Soft-drink bans no longer necessary?

Soft-drink manufacturers will restrict their advertising to kids and (within two years) will not supply schools with soft-drinks. After moves by the Victorian Government to restrict soft drink sales in government schools the soft-drink industry move may simply be anticipating otherwise inevitable legislative restrictions. But already doubts are emerging about the efficacy of such policies – some such restrictions on sales have existed since 1990 but never been implemented so that legislative restrictions are essential.
