Sting: A bitter post

I have an unfortunate, rather negative approach to rock musicians like Sting. They have no obvious musical talents or intelligence and travel the world in their personal jets telling us all how to be environmentally friendly. It is accurate to describe them as hypocrites.

And look at Sting's taste in women. Look at Rita Sting's charming, unpretentious natural smile and the elegant décolletage. Note the way the cleavage neatly bunches over her high waist band-cum-broach. Was it air-touched?

They deserve each other but, surely, the world does not deserve them.

Sting's a political dill, but surely you're kidding suggesting he has no musical talent.

And she doesn't have a bad cleavage for an older woman. What do you have against cleavage , harry?

jc, How much does the first violinist in the Sydney Symphony Orchestra get paid annually as a fraction of Sting's performance fee for a single concert?

Who has more musical talent? OK its a matter of tastes I agree. Good taste versus lack of any.

I have nothing against cleavage and have examined the determinants of such. But that smile. Look at it twice. Read the link.

No fan of String's extra curricular activities but his musicianship is not in doubt. Apart from his voice, he is well-known as something of a prodigy and stories of him "just picking up" instruments are fairly well-known. I remember the story of him jamming with session musos on a sax he picked up for the first time -- story told by Police guitarist Andy Summers in some awe (and bitterness!). And he is a really clever and musical bass guitarist. As to his income relative to the first violinist, well, I would think that was down to market forces! But seriously, the guy might be a dick, but it isn't fair to say he has no obvious music talent.

I think Sting's pretentious lyrics and soppy tones are truely dreadful. So too does the US music Magazine Blender which ranks his lyrics as the worst in history. Giving that he is competing against some of the most monumental banality on the planet this is saying something.

Have to agree with Harry. Sting may well have musical talents, but he certainly has no voice for singing.

Then I'm not sure you are agreeing with Harry, Sinclair, as he said Sting has no obvious musical talents. I can see why people don't particularly like his voice: such things are a matter of taste. My point was that he does have obvious musical talents. As to his singing, I like it, especially when he sings on other people's music and does harmony. But hey...

SFA, no doubt. But relatively few people care for classical music, there are a lot of violinists, and there's only one Sting.

Professional wrestlers get paid more than nurses. That's the way the market forces cookie crumbles.

Spiros, You noted my question but not the answer I provided for it.

Did you read what the dill said "I would like to think that we both work pretty hard for the rights of indigenous people and for the rights of conservation of the Amazon rainforest, but we do need to get around. It's a difficult one.'"

Too much money
