LSD pack-rape of sex-change nun

I have decided to have a quiet Saturday at home. I've got job applications to read and some gardening to do. As well I have to finish off my papers for forthcoming conferences during September in Perth and Adelaide.

I'll drink a 1990 Penfolds Bin 707 this evening - then perhaps think about another post on problem drinking. I need to reread The Australian newspaper which, unusually, did not seem to have a lot in it earlier today on my first rough glance - this second reading usually firms up my view on international situations that I should pontificate upon - the leaked IPCC drafts on global warming look inviting. I'll also watch the Saturday episode of The Bill which has become less soap-opera-ish in recent weeks and almost approaches the status of the top crime show it once was.

Are you having a pleasant weekend? Have you enjoyed my blogposts or not over recent weeks? Please contribute your views here on these or any other issues you may care to discuss or articulate. Its an open forum.

Hope you enjoyed your Bin 707. I'm tidying up a Kamberra Riesling which I will need to top up on soon - it doesn't make the bottleshops here.
What's your problem drinking? Mine is the availability of aged red - I get migraines with young rough reds. Which is a good excuse for only choosing the best!
The article in the OZ was more interesting for what it did not say - that holding overall greenhouse emissions to current levels would mean that western countries will have to reduce them significantly , considering that China and India are not going to be able throttle back anytime soon, planned economies or not.

Lesley, The Bin 707 tastes like most Penfolds wines - designed by a committee not a great winemaker. Nothing wrong with it but now bought retail it would be close to $200 and not worth that. I bought it for about $30 around 1993. Yes, I should sell my holding not drink it.

I think India and China will be forced by high prices to practise energy conservation. Their energy consumptions very inefficient.

I'm coming to the conclusion that I should support boutique cheesemakers and winemakers. You're right about committee decisions.
So what's going to induce the high prices? Transport costs for fuel? Demand from increased population? Limited supply?

I was planning to watch The Bill this evening too, but my tv finally bit the dust about 6pm. I don't think I will replace it, since I only ever watched The Bill anyway and it's been in decline for quite some time now.

Lucy, I am interested in behavioural as well as substance-based addictions. And I am addicted to watching the Bill - even with its obviously decline. Done it for 17 years. But I don't watch much TV for the test of the week.

I havent watched the BILL properly for at least 6 years. You are saying it has improved?

In my odd casually flicking past itI haven't seen any evidence ina 20 second look.

I'd rather watch Inspector Rex anyday.
