All of these are hoaxes, Harry. They come from a British Satirical Magazine called "Viz".

See my comments on the smoking ones.

Yes there are fakes. I deleted the other two posts. I didn't like the double entendre in the smoking ad. This last one is a fake but quite amusing.

So you mean to say you didn't get the double entendre until I pointed it out? Dude, you ARE old.

Yobbo, I have to defend myself against that claim.

I saw the eroticism but excused it on the grounds that I thought it was genuine.

My reasoning was blunted because the producers of Chesterfield cigarettes in 1926 ran a campaign 'Blow some my way' where a woman looks devotedly at a man lighting a cigarette - she longingly wants to have a puff.

It was one of the most successful campaigns in cigarette smoking - it is claimed it led to a 40% increase in cigarette sales to women. You can see the ad in Brandt's cigarette century page 204.

These campaigns were developed by cigarette producers on the advise of psychoanalysts who saw smoking as the 'sublimation of oral eroticism' (Brandt p. 84).

"Blow On My Face" is a bit different. Hehehe.

The Lard Information Council might be a hoax but how about Render Magazine?

A recent article trumpets the benefits of feeding pig fat to pigs. Apparently Choice White Grease (CWG)produces firmer fat than soybean oil or chicken fat and that means your thinly sliced bacon won't tear.
